The Spanish Association AENOR has just published the second edition of the UNE 139803:2012 Standard "Accessibility requirements for content on the Web", updating its content to align it with WCAG 2.0, the current version of the Accessibility Guidelines for Web Content of the Initiative. Web Accessibility (WAI) of the World Web Consortium (W3C). The new version of the standard establishes the characteristics that must be fulfilled by the information and other contents available through web technologies on the Internet, intranets and any type of computer networks, so that they can be used by most people, including people with disabilities and elderly people, either autonomously or through the necessary support products. The standard covers the needs of different abilities: visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological and exposes the keys to facilitate understanding and navigation to all users, regardless of their technological knowledge and knowledge of the technologies they use to access the web. The Standard UNE 139803 is cited, together with its sisters UNE 139801 (accessibility to hardware) and UNE 139802 (accessibility to software) in Royal Decree 1494/2007, which approves the Regulation on the basic conditions for access to people with disabilities to technologies, products and services related to the information society and social media.
